- Interested in improving your scholarly writing? Want to get published? Join us for our next meeting! We will share productivity tools and strategies to help you meet your semester writing goals, and we will spend some time writing. SAA exists to provide resources and support to novice academic authors to improve UNLV students’ quality and production of academic writing.

- The Academic Success Center (ASC), in conjunction with CSUN, will be hosting Major Madness & Beyond, an interactive collaborative event in which UNLV colleges and departments showcase their majors, minors, and certificate programs. This year, we are pleased to be partnering with the Graduate College to expand students vantage point after completion of their undergraduate studies. In alignment with the Top Tier Initiative, we hope to inspire students in the major/minor selection process and foster their enthusiasm about graduation visualization.

- UNLV’s Future Scholars Series presents our most high-achieving students with a unique look at some of UNLV’s available specialized academic opportunities. This is a series of four (4) different events where students will get to hear from experts in their areas to learn more about the programs and opportunities that will elevate their experience in college. Our last series, Liberal + Fine Arts Opportunities, will highlight our campus research centers, and will allow students the opportunity to connect with faculty who are doing cutting-edge research in their fields. Unique performance opportunities for our fine arts students will also be highlighted during this series.

Sy, MD, DrPH for his final seminar of the academic year on navigating the NIH and securing funding opportunities. Sy, MD, DrPH At the NIH, Dr. Francisco S. Sy, MD, DrPH was a senior program director and AIDS coordinator in the Division of Extramural Scientific Programs at the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD). In his 12 years at NIH/NIMHD, he served in various leadership positions including director of the Office of Community-Based Participatory Research & Collaboration, director of the Office of Extramural Research Administration, and director of the Division of Extramural Activities & Scientific Programs.
