  • Green Dot Student Bystander Training                 Sept 27 2016 5-8pm & Sept 28 2016 5-8pm
    • Student Recreation and Wellness Center Health Education Room (HED)
    • Green Dot Student Training is an opportunity for UNLV students to learn the skills they need to safely intervene in potentially violent situations. Through videos, group conversations, discussions, role plays, and interactive activities, we will learn about how to detect a red dot, the barriers that exist for all of us when we try to do green dots, and how to find the most helpful green dot for every situation. Training is 6 hours in length, offered in (2) 3-hour sessions.

    • UNLV’s Future Scholars Series presents our most high-achieving students with a unique look at some of UNLV’s available specialized academic opportunities. This is a series of four (4) different events where students will get to hear from experts in their areas to learn more about the programs and opportunities that will elevate their experience in college. Our Honors + Research series will give prospective students the ability to learn more about our prestigious UNLV Honors College, and to learn more about the many opportunities available to UNLV students to participate in research projects. Students who come to this series will also get the chance to connect with UNLV faculty who are currently conducting ground-breaking research

    • Key to good scholarship is the proper handling of citations and references. This workshop will go over the basics, and also will provide an overview of referencing tools, such as RefWorks and Medelev. In addition, you will get some practice on how to paraphrase correctly.
