John D. WattIssue 18: Summer 2022
John D. Watt was a member of the Interactive Measurement Group from Summer 2019 to Spring 2021. Like others in the lab, he created websites and online studies, and he learned to program in R. These experiences were transformative. For example, while creating R code for his honors thesis, he found himself immersed in the coding and problem-solving for hours at a time. He realized that he really enjoyed coding and decided to try it as a career. Upon graduation, J.D. attended General Assembly’s Software Engineering Immersive Remote to learn the skills he needs to pursue his goal of becoming a software developer. He can now program using JavaScript, Python, HTML, CSS, SQL, and other web development tools. Check out his website and selected projects.
