Ayla Gelsinger is graduating in the Spring of 2021 with degrees in Psychology and Communication Studies. During her time at UNLV, Ayla has been actively engaged in the community: She has been a part of the IMG Lab, the Baby and Child Rebel Lab, and the Communication and Technology Lab. Ayla published her independent research in the Spectra Undergraduate Research Journal and is working on publishing another manuscript alongside her Communication professor. She has presented research at the Eastern Psychological Association virtual conference and was the winner of the best podium presentation at the UNLV OUR Symposium. Recently, she also won the Student Service Award from UNLV’s Office of Community Engagement for her work in pairing Silver State Service Dogs with veterans in need. Finally, Ayla is a Court Appointed Special Advocate, a Rape Crisis Center Volunteer, and an Adam’s Place group facilitator. Following her graduation, she plans to continue her research and service at Columbia University’s Master of Social Work program. Well done, Ayla!
