A flyer for Growing Latinas into Outstanding Women Annual ConferenceMonica Cordova-Medina has been a member of the Interactive Measurement Group since the summer of 2020. This fall, Monica led a poster team that conducted research on censored data. Monica is also an active board member of Kappa Delta Chi Sorority, Inc. on campus, serving as Philanthropy Chair. This fall, Monica helped to virtually organize and host Kappa Delta Chi’s 11th annual conference, Growing Latinas into Outstanding Women (G.L.O.W.)!

G.L.O.W. is a free all-day event hosted for all high school girls in the Clark County School District. This event is an opportunity for high school girls to learn more about higher education and to build on leadership skills. Ultimately, the main goal of this event is to leave these girls inspired and empowered to do good for themselves and their community.

Headshot of Monica Cordova-MedinaMonica played a vital role in the organization of this event. She organized the itinerary and important forms, kept in contact with prospective participants, helped organize two panels, and reached out to community leaders to present workshops. Additionally, for the first time, Monica’s sorority was able to award two scholarships valued at $300 to two of the high school senior participants. Congratulations Monica and Kappa Delta Chi on a successful event!
